Elizabeth SPires, THERAPIST IN NC
I believe you have better days ahead.
Are you carrying more than anyone realizes? Maybe you’ve been holding it all together, quietly. Maybe you’re grieving, overwhelmed, or just exhausted from trying to figure it all out on your own.
You’re in the right place.
At Anchorage Counseling, I offer a safe and steady space to breathe, reflect, and begin again. Whether you’re navigating infertility, adjusting to life with a baby, or struggling to connect with your child, I meet you with warmth, understanding, and clinical expertise. You don’t have to explain why this feels hard. I already believe you.
I’ve spent over a decade walking alongside families in vulnerable seasons—and I’ve lived through many of them myself. My practice is grounded in attachment, shaped by lived experience, and built on the belief that healing happens in the context of relationships. I’m here to hold space for your story, and help you move toward the version of life that feels a little more like your own.
How I work
Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you.
It’s not about quick solutions or surface-level advice.
We’ll work on what’s underneath — the stories, patterns, fears, and longings that shape how you feel and how you relate to yourself, your partner, your child, or your body. You don’t need to come in with the “right” words. You just need to come in as you are. Here’s what you can expect in our work together.
A calm, grounded space to slow down and make sense of your experience
Support for both the emotional and practical parts of your journey.
Reflection and gentle curiosity, not judgment
Tools for connection, co-regulation, and self-compassion
A therapist who really listens—and genuinely cares
My core values
At the heart of Anchorage Counseling is a belief in safe, respectful, and relational care. Therapy with me isn’t just about goals—it’s about how we get there, together.
Connection
Healing happens in connection—with others, and with yourself. We’ll focus on what helps you feel seen, soothed, and supported.
Safety
You deserve a space where your nervous system can exhale. That means a space where you feel emotionally safe, respected, and never judged.
Honesty
I bring realness into the room—compassionate truth-telling, clarity, and transparency. I’ll name things with care, not shame.
Growth
Even if it’s slow. Even if it’s messy. I believe in your capacity to change and in your right to do it at your own pace.
